Vanguard Baskets

FAQ

Where are the baskets made?

The baskets are manufactured by Vanguard Baskets at our ISO 9001:2000 certified production facility located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Langley is 30 minutes east of Vancouver, B.C. and 2 hours north of Seattle, Washington.

What is the minimum quantity of baskets I must order

to have a logo stamped on the side of the basket?

We make baskets with logos available to all of our customers. The minimum order is 48 large baskets or 60 express baskets. (for additional information on hot stamping please see hot stamp specifications on the accessories page.)

Why do you use a hot stamp to apply logos?

When compared to other methods such as printed labels or silk screening, a hot stamped logo will last the life of the basket.

What colors are available?

The stock colors are red, green, blue, yellow and black. Custom colors are available on orders of 1000 baskets or more.

Who currently uses Vanguard shopping baskets?

The benefits of Vanguard's shopping baskets are being enjoyed by a dynamic range of customers from national retailers such as Kroger, The Home Depot and Safeway to local produce stands and libraries. Our customers span across North America from Fred Meyer stores in the North West to Publix stores in the South East.

How much to the baskets weigh?

The Express Basket weighs 1.3 lbs (600 grams) and the Large Basket weighs 2.1 lbs (.95 kg).

How much weight will the baskets hold?

The weight bearing capacity of our baskets far exceeds normal useage requirements. The express basket has a capacity of 50 lbs (22 kg) and the large basket has a capacity of 150 lbs (68 kg).

Are plastic handles strong enough?

Yes. They are made from a nylon/fiberglass filled composite, which is stronger than the equivalent metal handle.

Why do Vanguard baskets have plastic handles?

Ergonomically designed plastic handles are more comfortable to carry. This unique Comfort-Grip design encourages the shopper to carry more. This translates to increased sales for the retailer.

What type of plastic are the baskets made from?

They are made from 100% Virgin Polypropylene, which is strong, durable and non-toxic. Our Ecobaskets are made with 75% Virgin Polypropylene and 25% recycled plastic resins fabricated from used plastic bottles.

Do you offer any type of warranty on the baskets?

All of our baskets are covered by a free one-year replacement warranty.

What are the benefits of putting stacks of baskets in more

locations around the store?

Having multiple locations increases shopping convenience by providing a solution for customers whose hands have gotten full after they've reached the back of the store. It also translates into extra sales for the retailer.
